Could your business go paperless with a business app?

Patrice Appleton • April 16, 2019

Is your app a sleek, efficient, minimalist space or do you often find your desk hidden under reams and reams of paper, notes, invoices and files? Many offices aspire to go paperless but in reality this is often a difficult objective to achieve. However, could your small business make this lofty vision a reality with a custom designed mobile app?

Invoicing

Whatever your business, chances are you need to quote and invoice customers on a fairly regular basis. Going paperless in this area is more efficient, more economical and much better for the environment. A bonus of this is having your invoicing integrated with an app also could prompt faster payments - by integrating a pay now button on the invoice itself using a service such as PayPal, your customers could click and pay direct from their own mobile device.

Job management

Whether you have a small or large team, if you frequently have jobs which take you or your team offsite, having a job management app rather than relying on easily misplaced work orders and paper calendars could represent a huge leap forward when it comes to going paperless. The added benefit here is that an app is more efficient, everyone can have the same access and it’s much easier to update jobs and keep everyone informed. Employees can also use the app on site to update client records and keep electronic notes, rather than having job info scribbled down on various files and unavailable to others in different locations.

To do lists

Hands up if your desk is littered with post-it notes and you can see sticky pads across colleague desks too? Having an app to manage to do lists is an easy way to reduce the amount of unnecessary paper clogging your space. App-based to do lists make collaboration with other team members easier and as a manager, you can see at a glance what everyone is working on, what they have on their plate and what resources you have to play with. With an app-based rather than paper system, brainstorming, accessing files and other resources is also much easier as everyone can pitch in and be on the same page (with no physical paper page required!).

Meeting notes and client records

How much easier would it be to tap a name into your phone while away from your desk to access that client record you need? Or bring up meeting notes from last week on your commute? An app can be used to do just that and blitz the amount of paper wafting around your office.
